Riggins Jet Boat Races

We took our annual trip to Riggins to watch the jet boats race and wreck. I think that this is year number 6. Jaime works in Riggins and so we always stay with her at the job site.  Which is right at the confluence of the Little Salmon River and the Big Salmon.  Dad, Claudia and Kenzie drove over this year to take part in the fun. It was a wet weekend but made lots of memories.

We love to travel in our motor home aka..Shaggin Wagon. The kids love not being strapped into their car seats. And make long drives the best.

Phil and his co pilot

The biggest bags of onions we had ever seen. And not the best smell after traveling behind them for miles!!

We stopped to fish for steelhead along the way. And this is where we realized that Phil had left our cooler full of food sitting in the garage at home. And yes I say Phil because that was the only thing he packed and still didn't get it in the camper. Luckily when we reached Riggins and got cell service again we called Jenny and she was able to go pick it up for us. We did have food in the Shaggin Wagon, but nothing too healthy. The kids loved eating junk food all day.

This fish was caught by some men fishing close to Phil. All he seemed to catch was rocks. When they caught it of coarse me and the kids went running over like tourists that had never seen a fish before. It was not very thick but was a good 24 inches. When the man started to clean it he milked out the eggs into a ziploc bag and Brek says "Look mom that fish is full of beans!!"  He had all the fisherman rolling with laughter.
Well Phil fished most of the afternoon. And I had walked back up the hill to the motor home with Brek leaving Phil with the kids. About 20 minutes later I could hear Addie crying. Which is not uncommon. About that time Phil opens up the door and there stands Addison soaking wet like a drowned rat. All I could do was laugh which made the situation worse. I wish I could of seen it but of coarse no adults did. We watch our children so closely, I know. Her and Hayden were playing and she reached down in the water for a stick and went head over heals into the river. It was a deep slow part of the river luckily and Hayden grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back on land.
Redneck clothes line

This is the spot where Addie fell in. Down by where Phil is fishing.

Dry clothes a warm blanket and laying in front of the heater put a smile back on her face.

Doggie booster seat!

Brek and Bryan having their breakfast waiting for the boats.

The little B's on the go!!

Jenny giving Clutch a help back to the camp!
This boat landed up on the rocks after his steering cable broke and he was not able to turn the corner. There was 3 wrecks total for the weekend with one of them sinking. This is the only one we got to see. Last year we seen one wreck and sink right in front of us and another do a 360. There is always excitement to be seen.

We always go into town and check out some of the boats.

Love the cousin time!!

Waiting on the boats

Best rock chair on the river

Dylan and Addie are camping buddies. And only a year apart.  Come on Addie some day you might catch her!

This was my favorite, the yellow banana!

Doggie Day Spa
My dad was the biggest kid there. We were all told to get back off the waters edge and as soon as the races started look who was back down at the water.

I wonder where Hayden gets his funny face poses!!

Easter

On our trip in California we received some bad news that Aunt Sherry had past away. So on Easter weekend we drove home for the funeral. It had been 6 months since I had been home and over a year for Phil. So it was great to spend time with our family for Easter. We had a big Easter Egg hunt with all the Burn's family cousins and wow has our family grown.
Aahh they look so innocent!

We do not get dressed up very often and so yes you better get a picture fast!!

Grandma Bonnie and the kids

We were at Disneyland for Brek's birthday and so we had a little party for him with the cousins.

Another boat for the tub. He is a boat king!

The kids colored eggs, eggs and yes more eggs!

My grandparents have 19 grandkids and 32 great grandkids...I think I counted right, I may have missed a few. And no they were not all here.

Gage and Krede

And yeah it was ham. No turkey on this holiday

The boys had fun finding eggs, but maybe more fun pulling each other in the wagon.

Looking for the loot!
Brek and Braxton are 6 months apart and are best buddies.

Let's eat boys

Yes this is trouble

The Harris Family takes on Disneyland

Our Spring Break vacation started with a trip to Salt Lake City for Hayden's last hockey tournament.  The ice rinks there were unbelievable.  They played on 2 different rinks that were used for the winter Olympics. So a lot bigger ice than what they were used to. But played so well as a team and won 2 out of 4 games.  We then left Utah and headed to Vegas. We spent the night at Circus Circus and the kids had a blast.  We took them to Fremont Street for the light show. It was a fun night and we didn't have any scary people incidents so all was good. We left the next morning for California.

We were able to keep our trip to Disneyland a surprise tell we arrived at  the  hotel.  They were so excited, almost as much as mom and dad.

These pretty flowers looked like birds with a Mohawk.
Our walk from out hotel to the tram was about 10 minutes.

The sun the sun get out of our eyes
I think he likes her
Brek did not approve of having to wait in line.
Splash mountain was a favorite to  all  except Brek, he refused to go on it again.  He was fine until a small amount of water seemed to find him and then he was done.
All ready for Star Wars
Mom's favorite ear hat!!
Lets eat!!  Packing our lunch was worth it.  We didn't have to wait in a line and saved some cash in the process.

Brek was given a birthday button  from Disneyland to support his awesome day!

Open up!!  The kids loved going into the whales mouth on Story book land boat ride

Day 2 of  Disney can be exhausting!

Brek loved any ride that he thought he could drive

Can't wait in a line without a little sugar

We worried about having to split up and one of us take the little  ones and the other take Hayden. But we almost rode every ride as a family. Hayden was a good sport and went on all the kiddie rides with the kids and never complained. There was 2 rides that Brecken was not tall enough for, Matterhorn and Indiana Jones. And Addie was not tall enough for Indiana Jones as well. We are so glad we decided to go this year and the crowds were not too bad. Oh and for those of you who know how I am always losing my children and husband......none of us got lost the whole time we were there. And Phil's phone of coarse was out of commission. So I think we did awesome not losing one another in such a chaotic place

The kids all got to pick out a souvenir. Brek's of coarse was a bubble gun. And after 10 minutes of continuous blasting he was empty and angry!

Departing the fun train ride around Disney....check out Brek!

Hayden did not feel the love of having his photo taken very much with the fuzzy people.  Brecken and Addie however loved every chance they got.

Boys!!!

Addie and her favorite princess

The Finding Nemo ride was our longest wait of 45 minutes but so worth it.
Goofy with our 3 goofies

We rode the Monorail that circled the park

The only ride Addie did not like

Not happy about being to short for the Matterhorn ride!

Mr Toad's ride was a favorite.

And they did serve some Harris screams.

Some of the favorites:
Addison: Splash Mountain
Brecken: Buzz Lightyear
Hayden: Space Mountain
Phil: Matterhorn
Hollie: Indiana Jones
Loved by all: Parade and the Fireworks.  We could  watch the fireworks from our balcony at the hotel.
The final day at Disney ended with an uneaten dinner
